Sanction: This is not a sanctioned meet. Any times made at this meet cannot be used for KIF Champs or State times. There will not be any referees or disqualifications.

Warm-up: 8:30 am

*****8 kids per relay each swims 50 yards. This is not a normal relay! The team with the most toys and has the most fun will win this relay! Dress up, bring toys, boards, floaters, boats, etc.

We will be having a potluck BBQ so bring anything you want to grill or eat and join us!

December Practice Schedule

Since Fridays are bad for the Waimea pool this month we are going to switch to Thursdays:

Mon: 4:45 - 6:15
Wed: 4:45 - 6:15
Thurs: 4:45 - 6:15

Optional Practice - Thursday's

Starting today I will hold an optional practice session on Thursday afternoons at the same time as regular practice: 5:00pm - 6:15pm.

If you wish to practice Thursday, I need email confirmation from you along with a plan for what you would like to work on.

No Practice Friday (Nov 5th)

Sorry for the late notice guys, but tomorrow is a county furlough and we are not allowed to use the pool on those days. The next practice will be Monday, Nov 8th at 5pm

Risk Management Video 11/4/2010

Waimea High School will be showing risk management video on 11/4/2010 6:00 pm in the band room. The video is mandatory for BOTH athlete and one parent. If the student athlete has watched the video for a fall sport then they do not need to watch it again. (one viewing per school year)

Team Meeting & Sign-Up - Nov 1st, 5pm @ Waimea Pool

Summer is over and that means we are heading into another season of Waimea High School Swimming! The season will start on Nov 1st, 5pm at the Waimea pool. We will have a team meeting and I will distribute the consent forms along with the physical forms. BOTH FORMS need to be complete and on file before the swimmer can participate. Also there will be a mandatory safety video that the swimmers and at least one parent must watch, details to come.

Why: To celebrate a terrific KIF repeat championship season

State Swim Meet - Hilo

Still waiting for some pictures from the event but the boys went to state and managed to pull out 11th place in the 400 Freestyle relay!! Toss in a 13th in the 200 Freestyle Relay and 16th in the 200 Medley Relay and that's a solid finish

Congratulations to the Waimea Boys Swim Team, KIF Champions for 2 years in a row:

The girls managed to put a couple points on the board in a very competitive girls field, great job done by all. Details to come about the state meet and the awards banquet.

pre-KIF potluck and post-KIF bbq

Looking for 2 volunteers, one to lead the effort to organize a potluck after practice on the Friday before KIF (1/29). Would like another volunteer to lead the effort to organize a bbq to follow the meet on 1/30. They were a lot of fun last year and the kids have asked for a repeat, if you would like to help please let any of the coaches know. Thank you

NEW SCHEDULE!!!!

There are only 2 meets left, one qualifying meet at the YMCA at 2pm next Sat and the KIF Championship Meet on 1/30/09. Sorry for the confusion, the Kapaa invite changed the schedule and I did not get an update until today.

Potluck Friday 5:30pm - Waimea Pool

There will be a potluck this Friday after practice at 5:30pm at the Waimea pool, the items already covered are:

Spaghetti
Garlic Bread
Salad
NEEDED: Other entree's high in protein and carbohydrates, no dessert please

We will also be setting up for the meet on Saturday, if you have a canape that we could use please bring it to the potluck and we'll set it up and secure it. Thanks and see you there!
